Caribou Movement Strong
The Kaminuriak caribou herd- like all caribou – can be very frustrating but their 2019-2020 winter migration did not disappoint. Tens of thousands of animals descended into the North Seal River area and set up home for the winter. Many of our most popular (frozen) fishing lakes were home to thousands of caribou. In a time when many are rightfully wary of caribou hunting prospects, it was magnificent to see our beloved herd strong in its regal presence. While ski-dooing out Blackfish Lake, Gangler’s winter caretaker Jamie captured photos and video of caribou crossing the frozen waterway. It was awesome to see this magnificent herd- North America’s largest- and we hope that indicates a strong and timely migration for our Caribou hunts in the 2020 Fall.
